I wanted to share a quick guide on resetting the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) on BRP Jet Skis. Every time the throttle sensor or the fuel injection control unit is removed or replaced, a TPS reset must be performed. Incorrect TPS adjustment can cause engine faults both at idle and while riding.

Correct TPS Adjustment Procedure:
1. Make sure the throttle control lever is in the mechanical stop position, with the throttle fully open.
2. Move the throttle to about 1/4 of its travel and then quickly release it. Repeat this 2–3 times. If the throttle control lever is not in the mechanical stop position, continue adjusting the control cable.
3. After mechanically setting the minimum throttle position, use the diagnostic software to reset the TPS.

⚠️ Note: If the sensor does not detect a valid position during the reset, the adjustment may fail and trigger a fault. In this case, you must clear the error before repeating the procedure.

After the reset, start the engine and hold it at full throttle to ensure it operates normally.

If it's not in water, give it a quick blip to see if it revs, NEVER but never hold it full throttle out of the water. If it won't reset, take the air intake hose off and check the throttle body inside for corrosion, or check for a failed sensor (throttle, or other). If it's all been tipped upside down in water, the intake manifold can have water ingress, and needs to be removed to drain it.

Thank you for suggesting this method.
