    Dear Altruists,

Could you please give me a bill of quantities for a yacht/ sailboat? I need to know the cost breakdown. I am acknowledged about the fact the price depends on the size, type, machinery along with many other factors.

    Thank you.

Maru, here is a suggestion - if you are currently engaged in the design of a sailboat, how about posting details of what you have drawn / calculated so far?
And then the good folk on here might be better able to help you.

Also, what do you want to do with the sailboat? Circling the globe is a different boat than gunkholing or racing or picnicking or camping or living aboard, etc.

Good Folk hopefully may help prior to my design. I need to know the main machinery & equipment list to take into account for the design.

Perhaps this list of items, which is neither exclusive nor complete and which should be compiled according to the SOR of your boat, can help you.

This is too vague. If I were to give you the equipment list for my family three-masted schooner that I grew-up living aboard, but you were building a sunfish type beachsailer, I wouldn't be very helpful. I could just list 300 feet of 1/4" cable lengths for the stays on my Mariner 19, along with the number of blocks, the 135 pounds of iron in the centerboard, the 200 pounds of ballast lead. Does it help to know my halyards are 55 feet long or my main sheet is 60 feet long?

Are you building a sloop or a frigate? Maybe it's a trimaran? Please give us something more to go on.

It could be a 3HP outboard, 3 sheets of 6mm plywood, a few pine boards, screws and paint.

For a sailboat I would design I would need the following list:
    Main hull
    Ama's
    Cross beams
    Centerboard
    Rudder
    Trampolines
    Mast
    Rigging
    Sails 2
    Ropes
    Pulleys
    Cleats multiple

No motor, radio, airconditioner, refrigerator, toilet, beds, cooking equipment, GPS, rowboat, etc.

Your description is too simplistic for anyone to help you.
Go to a boat show and pick out the type of boat you are talking about.
