I noticed in someone's thread that they said to never let bondo near a boat. Why is this? Does it matter if it is completely encased in paint?

Bondo's stiff, brittle, porous. Gets wet, then when it gets cold it cracks. Or gets wet and slowly deteriorates. Or gets shaken up a lot and breaks loose. Nah, go with the good stuff.

bondo, will absorb water and swell. Not good. Go with a fiberglass filler.
