Delftship hull modeling

Hello,

i am modeling a hull of bulk carrier. I was wondering, do i need to model hatch covers, deck with camber as apart of the hull to get correct hydro-statistics specially for cross curves ?

 

If you expect to have the hull heeled to the point of deck immersion, then yes... You must close up the hull.

 

I have closed up the hull, so no leakage point, but what about hatch covers ? i have modeled hatch covers in tank modeling, but do i need to model the hatch covers also in layer as part of hull shell ?

 

Include all watertight volumes that can be considered as reserve buoyancy. If the hatches have watertight enclosures, you can include their volume, though I would not. Deck camber can be included if you want to make very precise calculations but will influence very little in the hydrostatic and the KN curves. I usually include it in my models.
