High speed planing

    I came across an interesting paper on high speed craft. I particularly like the diagrams and that the author has clear definitions of the terms he uses:

    never thought the Pressure Distribution would be a "U" shape on a Vee hull but now I guess it makes sense, I think.

    The bottom of the Vee pushing water to each side where it has "nowhere to go" at the upper parts of Vee that are still in the water.

    I'd have assumed the PD would simply be highest at the bottom of the Vee.
