Others would likely find your answer more edifying if you were to explain your logic. :)

Neither Hoyte nor Gonzo have given the correct answer. Tomorrow, if nobody has given the correct answer, I'll give the answer but not the logic. Knowing the answer is mearly a clue to knowing the logic.

Do the residents not know this information?

Does threw king know what color everyone's eyes, including his own, are?

Each of the 201 residents knows only what they can see with their own eyes.

The leader can see 100 blues and 100 browns (but doesn't know her own eye color)

The blues can see 100 browns, 99 blues, and one green (but doesn't know their own eye color)

The browns can see 100 blues, 99 browns, and one green (but doesn't know their own eye color)

The answer is that after 100 days the blue-eyed people leave the island en masse. None of the brown-eyed or green-eyed people are ever able to leave.

On Wikipedia Common knowledge (logic) the Puzzle is different, only the blue eyed people are to leave the island when they know the color of their eyes, but the outcome is the same, how come ?

‘‘ . . . . if a person on the island ever discovers they have blue eyes, that person must leave the island . . . . ’’

My perception is that the core problem of the two riddles is the same. The Wikipedia article focuses exclusively on the only solvable question, which is how the blue-eyed people can figure out their own eye color? My riddle throws in a couple of red herrings by implying that the brown-eyed and green-eyed people can also figure out their eye color, when in fact they never can figure it out (unless someone makes the statement "there is at least one brown-eyed (or green-eyed) person").

Without a penalty for being wrong (other than not leaving)
All Islanders could have imediately claimrd to have blue eyes. The 100 correct could have left imediately. The 100 brownies left behind with the green leadership.
Assuming that they desired to leave

I think that it takes three days and all of them can leave.
    Because...
After struggling with the logic for three days and three nights, they all have red eyes and everyone knows this to be the case.

Those people take no guesses, they only act upon 100% proof within the rules.
