Oh BTW, the above is not photoshopped I think, Shetland Sheepdog are just that small, and Flemish Giant Rabbits are just that big, German Giant Rabbits are even a tad bigger nowadays, the below lady has some of the latter for sale, those must be able to carry a lot of easter eggs . . .

    Do they make good boat-pets?

Seems like a good replacement for a dog.

It looks to be yes, as the lady says . . .

‘‘ De Duitse reus heeft een zeer zachtaardig karakter, en is zeer geschikt als huisdier. Het konijn is zeer gemakkelijk af te richten en te trainen. De Duitse reus heeft een sociaal en lief karakter die zich aanpast aan het gezin. Hij is in het bijzonder geschikt voor kinderen, bijten of krabben zit niet in zijn karakter. U moet de Duitse reus zien als een hond of kat kwa karakter. ’’
    — translation —
‘‘ The German giant has a very gentle nature, and is very suitable as a pet. The rabbit is very easy to train. The German giant has a social and sweet character that adapts to the family. He is particularly suitable for children, biting or scratching is not in his nature. You must see the German giant as a dog or cat like character. ’’

In the ad she adds . . .

‘‘ Zijn snel zindelijk te maken. ’’
    — translation —
‘‘ They can be easily potty trained. ’’

From the post #6706 picture I'm inclined to think some pets look a bit like their owners.

Fifty-seven years ago on April 1, 1962* a Moai from Easter Island washed up on the beach of Zandvoort in the Netherlands, it became international news and thousands of people came to have a look at it, later the Moai was placed in the local dunes. - (*local Dutch history link)

Re post #6710; I've just looked at 52°21'43.5"N 4°31'04.2"E, the Moai is still there on Google street view May 2009, right side & front view.
    P.S.
The Moai also can be seen on a Google street view of July 2016, but that's from a fixed location, so it only has a 360° view, which only shows the back side of the Moai.

That's lovely, Angel - thanks for sharing the story and the street view links!
Rurudyne - I remember seeing this being shown in my childhood in the early 1970s. Even then, spaghetti was relatively unusual and exotic in the UK - seems hard to imagine now!

Two aggressive geese deported and forever banished from the city of Harderwijk in the Netherlands, at least they think so as they have moved them about 14 km to a nearby nature reserve... - (first is a Dutch link)

Funny you should mention geese. We had one of these wandering around the golf course in Fletcher, North Carolina all day. It's a new one for me.

Edit - this just keeps getting better - " The species is invasive in Europe, where it is considered a high-risk species, and management action is recommended (Gyimesi and Lensink 2010). Even in their native range of Africa, they are considered pests due to their willingness to eat farmer’s crops (Mangnall and Crowe 2001, Mangnall and Crowe 2002) and their prevalence on golf courses (Mackay et al. 2014).
