It would be nice if one could build a boat that easy and quick, It will happen someday
as Science is making great progress just making things out of Atoms.
It will not be so much fun though.

Interesting, thank you Pafurijaz ... I've been exploring ways to to render designs my designs and I have to admit that the I've never managed to put aside the hours to climb the learning curve. That said, it seems inevitable. How many hours do you figure you have in it so far?

    @Tom
I think it will be easier to get things done, but I prefer wooden boats, where there is still a lot to do with their hands.

    Your question is very general.
However I use 3d programs for years, and I started with Autocad under MSDOS, many free programs and many professionals. Use and learn Blender, takes little time because the net is filled with video lessons and tutorials, but use it as a CAD, is not straightforward, partly because many commands are hidden and not very visible and many things are complicated to do.
I'm studying some solution, and I found several ways, which I will share as soon as I put in order the ideas.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------
the project goes on well this is another update progress.
Use only Blender stimulates me to find new solutions, becoming more and more precise, and I'm learning so much even on boats.

I have been working on post no 25 files and think that design would be better than my original build, giving better angles of attack to on coming seas possibly without reducing water line and draft and easy handling.
I would just love to have it in use right now. Miss that sea air and Glamping.
Untill my Ground Effect Vehicle is built ofcourse.

Great Tom, hope to see some evolution of your new project
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi I have some problems with my internet connection, my area manager stopped the service, now I'll have to switch to an other

I was stuck with the boat structure, because I don't know how to do this, and I have to read up and get some advice, expecting to finish completely the boat, I decided to make some new models, this weekend. which you can download in the link here below.

Thanks for those files it makes a big difference with them to work from.

I have had to reinstall my O/systems on one of my computers because of a bad computer
attack but getting back to normal.

    Adirondack boat

I am here again, with a new model, I continue to learn many concepts. I tried many roads at this time, and I found some methods, in order to carry out the projects of boats and more. Now I just have to do a tutorial, to learn how to make a boat, but as I said before, I have to collate ideas and workflow, before doing unnecessary work, since I I improve every day.

Below you can download the model of Adirondack, the two 3d models of the hull have the size that fit together, in fact the model of Blender, has the same dimensions of the model, imported into FreeShip.

    Project : Adirondack boat
    Designer : Unknow
    Created by : pafurijaz
    Filename : Adirondack_boat.fbm

    Design length : 4.495 m
    Length over all : 4.495 m
    Design beam : 1.014 m
    Beam over all : 1.014 m
    Design draft : 0.142 m
    Midship location : 2.247 m

Downloaded files and making some progress thank`s. I think just building my boat "on my knee" without plans was easier, but I guess that is just old fashioned.

    Advanced modelling

Hi, I have almost finished a new model, where I reproduced the file with Blender to be used with FreeShip, next week I share with just I fixed some parts still under construction.

And I try to do a little tutorial on modeling in Blender, I do not promise anything because I will do it in your spare time.

    Flicka 20 sailboat

Hello, everyone, I have finished the yacht over tomorrow but soon fix the file, to be used with freeship, and I share everything.

Then as soon as I did unless I have pressing business commitments, beginning with the tutorial creating step by step.

However, I did not stay in the reproduction of boats, a continuous exercise I do, exploring different methods, for example the new boat that I made, I used different types of curves, I made a boat with nurbs, one with bezier curves, and another with subdivision surfaces, which turn out to be the best.

    Last model before tutorials

Hi, here's the latest demonstration boat, where you can see the possibilities of the software UNDER the GNU GPL license.

All done with Blender, 3D model and the generations of SVG drawing views with FreeStyle rendering engine, then imported into Inkscape and exported to DXF and edited with LibreCAD.

Freeship Naturally, is not suited to managing a complex 3D model, and with this boat, in fact has some difficulties, some parts are corrupt, better to use only FreeShip for hulls, and its computations.

The model of this boat was fully modeled with subdivision surfaces, which are actually very similar to NURBS surfaces.
I used as reference in modeling, a boat I've found on the net, but as I said I created each solid, again with Blender, simplifying a lot.

This is for demonstration purposes only, size and many other things were not kept very into consideration, my goal was just to do something complex with this workflow.

Now I am very pleased with the results and I'm ready to take the first steps of the tutorial, I'll try to do in the coming days.

In early with the first part of the tutorial.

Blender positioning and scaling of blueprints background images

Hi, as said I did the first part of my workflow, to build boats with Blender, and CAD drawings.
There are some errors due to haste, then for the voice I used Fiesta TTS and the translator, I apologize for the errors and hope to improve in the next video. To assemble these few minutes it took 2 days of work, all done with free software.
