    how funny is this

The company starts advertising its yachts by showing a genuine macgregor 26 in its advertising, but the actual boat really looks like a chinese knockoff

To top it off, their promotional video is "not available in my country"

Would you buy a boat from this company ?

This is surprisingly common and dramatically on the rise, in this area of the world (and elsewhere). This will exponentially increase until it's so bad, internationally it'll be dealt with.

Everything in New Zealand is a ripoff and most of it is sponsered by our government but it is certainly World wide. Our Marine Industry is probably not to bad. We have self regulatory Industries they have the screws on their customers with their complaints system fixed in their favour the " untochables".

nah - not available there either. :-(

Does it have any high speed motoring ?

All the pictures I saw had a dinky little motor on it.

    Not promotional at all

You didn't miss much, the most exiting part was the DEEP PURPLE background music. Everything was filmed in a Flat calm. I don't think I have ever seen a video so calm before. You can learn nothing from this video except it takes an outboard and comes in WHITE.

An approximate English too on that page, besides the ugly boat styling. Those portlights are awful.
And finally, how about car tyres used as fenders in the official presentation video?

Just wait for the rigs coming out of the Levant...the car tires will be bald, with a few holes in them "for drainage and mosquito control!"

Portlights are in installed in 'Swiss cheese, Chinese made' style.

I like the way you think, but isn't "pretty" relative?

I would agree that the boat illustrated above is pretty much not in the "pretty" category.

But, do not want to hi-jack thread to a "pretty" discussion, so let's say my comment is rhetorical.

Tried a proxy server or VPN?

I've imported lots of China stuff-if you're spending more than a few hundred dollars, take a trip there to inspect it. Otherwise,it's often a crap shoot as to what you'll get.
Also use google images for every picture they have.

Hison..a couple years ago some guy came on here, figured that Honda/Yamaha/Seadoo/Kawasaki all made crap PWC and was going to import a higher quality chinese made one for 1/3 the cost and put them ALL out of business.
Driving by the Seadoo and Yamaha places, they still seem to be doing well. I think Hison was the company.

Yeah the ports are ugly, but those tires are brand new, made by the same company . . .

Could it be they started making boats because tire sales were down? Be funny if they did. "Business" decisions have been made for less strange reasons I'm sure.

This discussion could go the way of a Pink Panther quotable quote.

    Is you're boat pretty?

    Yes!

    (looks at a boat)

I thought you said your boat was pretty?

    Zat is not my boat!
