Yes, that is the theory- it works for the airplanes....Not sure if it works in a boat, let the NA's answer that question.

    Hello Guys,

I got the solution, I am ordering the triple transom ram pickups. THe center pickup will connect to a transom discharge with flapper about 8-12 " about the ram inlet. The ram inlet will plumb to the strainer then a manifold with service to raw water/ genset/ac/toilet. Any overpressure will discharge out the trasom. It just requires one extra hole.

I also purchased an electric 3-way ball valve to protect the genset (just in case) The added benefit is I can "t" into my fresh water system for post operations flushing

    Thank you for your inputs

You idea is a good thought, as it is functional for air intakes on the sides of boats where the apparent wind vector is more or less constant even with changes in pitch. I faced this issue when looking for 22000 lpm air intakes. I opted for an air box with custom 48" x 4" CNC intakes

can I just explain my experience.
I had an overheat prob on one engine 22Kts. everything was checked over on the new engines but nothing found. I hauled the boat and with a 4inch grinder shamfered the leading edge of the bronze through hull fittings lowering the leading edge by1/8 of an inch..

    Not a prob since.
