Hi. Im searching for a project boat however I’m not 100% sure what I’m after and am looking advice on what hull or boat type/manufacturer I should be on the look out for.

What im after is a fast fisher with a wheelhouse (or capable of accepting a wheelhouse being added or moulded onto it), must be capable of cruising at 20-30kts plus and equally at 5-10 knots for trolling. It will be 95% sea use too, which will probably have a significant impact on the selection.

A Wilson Flyer 23 ticks most of those boxes however im not sure how it operates at the slower speeds but then there’s the slamming of the hull to consider. I’ve been told Teal hulls are good in the past but have absolutely no idea if that’s true.

    FYI im UK based.

You should prepare a more complete Statement of Requirements than the one you currently provide, so that some expert can venture a sufficiently valid answer.

I agree with TANSL; if you are serious about such a boat, a use case (SOR) of good detail would be worth your effort. It may also be useful to have a chinwag with boat owners (having a similar use case) in your locale - what is good, bad about their boat.

You mentioned the Wilson Flyer 23; it may be worthwhile to include that example in your use case (as you did here) and be as specific as possible about what attributes you like about it.

That was my first thought. I’m not sure of the availability in the UK.
