Im thinking hard about the melamine ..i like the idea myself , but its a bit crappy here and has undulations unless you buy Wilson art and its a fortune. Im acually thinking about Mediate or normal MDF and spray and polish Algrip to make molds and they will last if stored well. Drawings shortly .
    thks

You can use melamine faced chipboard, the sort of thing that a lot of kitchen furniture is made from.As far as finish is concerned,it isn't a huge project to improve the surface with a polishing mop and some compound. If the yard is looking to tab the unit to the deck they will either be adding the material to the outside or you will have to provide access to the inside with some form of cover to close off the hole required.I would suggest that before going too far you make a template of the deck shape at the point where the seats will be located. Most decks will have a curved transverse shape and won't simply be flat surfaces with a fall to shed water.

You could also pre-release the tabbing; then glue the entire bench in epoxy putty. Just need a way to push or pull into the putty and enough time to apply putty and wisdom to not reset it. You make references or setup ways for it to be set absolutely first time.

Might be hard if u shaped to not disturb and push the putty out sideways??
