The sloping bow I build on my personal boats is for wind and at 16 ft she rides over waves well. I do all kinds of paddling ,but here in TX the wind is a bear and the hooked up nose catches a lot of wind . I am a firm believer in the top of a boat being as important as the bottom in performance. The sguare noses give you a longer water line which in a well designed boat should help speed.
Again not as pretty but preforms better.

They put a few miles on her and even got it slimed.

They also tried a passenger and it handled it fine

Little view of how she handles

Well I have her back now and it is time to doll her up.

Flipped the bug over and started working on the hatches,

cut out the spacers and the lips

glued in the spacer ,you never have enough clamps

sanded it flush with the inside of the opening

then glued in the lip for the seal

hatches just need a gasket and bunjis now

Wrapping the Lady bug up .
    Gasket applied on hatch openings.

This Lady likes red so I made the soft pad eyes from red straps

Mounted them and put on the bunji cords

Mounted the seat . all I have left to do is clean her up now ,oh and red rope for the carry handles.
