DIY - boats (for fishing, picnic, etc)

Hello,

I opened this thread, because I would like to discouss about the DIY boats: how is it possible (with minimum budget) to build fishing and picnic boats for the familie and friends.
I finished my PET-catamaran 1 weeks ago, and the test was successfull

Sorry to say but it seems very dangerous for children.
Put a life jacket for each child, and put a couple of lifebuoys at strategic locations of the artifact. You should give more freeboard for if, God forbid, break a bottle.
Protects the engine area so no one can fall through the hole.
The existing railing not prevent a child from falling into water.

Hello, yes you are right. It is not safe for children but good for fishing.
But: I have a "2 and a half year" old son. I can go to the river with him on my boat. It was not easy, but after 2 days he knows what he can do and can not do

 

Trust me, even if your child seems more sensible than an adult, teach him to swim, put on a life vest for children and seeks that when falls overboard, no head drop down.
It seems foolhardy. The only guilty will be you.

When my family (with life jacket) is on the board, we are always in the near of the riverside (it means, that the water is 50cm deep

 

In this case it is quite possible that the hulls touch the river bottom. Be careful, the boat will tilt and you are going to slide on the deck.
