I remember seeing reports about and videos of Ghost around ten years ago. Original design and prototype build by Juliet Marine Systems in the Portsmouth, New Hampshire area.

    CNN report from 2014

Let's just say she's been "resting" for a while. GD has an entirely different mission set in mind for her....

Aha, out of the dark closet now, is she? Well, odd SOR required odd solutions......., and for the cost, your comfy seating might well come from the sow's ear.

Okay, it has an ASW role, so Andros Island. And it has an over-the-water medivac role, which is entirely absent in the Bahamas. Many small islands have no airstrip. Team up with Medical Air Services or AirMed International and offer Ghost as part of a medical transport subscription service to cruisers and dive operators throughout the Bahamas. You get a ton of free training, and maybe a million a year in subscription income. And it does something useful.

Of course, the drug cartels will take it out at the first opportunity unless you let them run drugs in it.

Listened to the video. Fellow talking was on the littoral debacle boats... so there is that.

12 years is a long project timline, evey now and again I log into telegram and see the unfiltered horror of modern conflict. Houthis have given most the navy the boot in the red sea with drones, and jet skis with 25 grand in electronics in a semi swarm have shut the black sea down. Big arrow tank formations been taken down with civilian drone storms, airforces reduced to behind horizon launches.... makes me wonder the efficacy of these projects if for no other reason than raw economics.

Like the littoral combat vessels, they may have been an operational near trillion dollar failure... but they looked cool. Does make me want to go to my senators office and ask if all this has a use in the age of budget loitering swarm weapons.
