rc canting keeler canard setup

im doing a little rc canter 950mm oa with a stock maritime vo70 keel but im stuck on the canard. i want it lift inducing so the boat will go bow up and foil on the keel when shes sending hard, would it be better to have a fixed single board with a T foil or lifting L boards like the new safran and banq pop imoca 60s?

 

I think if you want the whole boat to foil then a t-foil would be better. The Saffran version of DSS uses technology first used on the AC 72's but it doesn't allow the whole boat to fly and you'd have to have a way to retract the windward board.
The T-foil would have to use a wand to move a flap for altitude control to work effectively and you would have to have substantial RM(righting moment).
You might consider on-deck movable ballast which would generate more RM with less drag than a canting keel and use a small fixed keel for self-righting.
The microMOTH in the pictures didn't work too well because it didn't have ballast in the daggerboard to make it self-righting and the "Trapeze Power Ballast System" only moved side to side-it should have been able to move fore and aft as well. It was a handful but probably could have been tamed with a small amount of fixed ballast. Remember: weight is NOT as critical as is righting moment(RM). Welcome to the forum and good luck!
