    Hey all,

I’m wondering g someone would possibly tell me what sort of speeds I could expect out of a hull like the attached. I’m after a boat that could handle perhaps 6 people max and most times only 2 that I could use to explore the St John’s River and ICW in central FL and surrounding areas.

I’m hoping for about 10-12 kits using a Beta 14 but don’t know if the hull shape supports that speed. Boat is 23’ long with a beam of 6’-8”.

    Any thoughts are appreciated.

Atkin says it will do 8mph with 6-8hp. It is designed as a pure displacement type. 6 people+boat is asking a lot of 14hp to lift to 10-12 knots.

Maybe check out "sergeant Faunce", claimed 15mph with 8hp.

Atkins designed beautiful boats. He was a bit overstating on the expected speeds though.
