Atkins - compared to modern design/materials

    I love your design. Kinda wishing I had put a skeg on my last build; at low speed, a side wind will push it off course. Might help protect the prop also.

    Two other advantages:

    1./ I set it up level so when I turned the hull over, it would be dead simple to level it fore and aft.

    2./ Hull protection in a beaching situation.
