Guesses on hull speed? 21' Unknown Design

21' hull of unknown design. Powered by 60hp Isuzu I/O. Any guesses on what kind of cruising speed this design might have?

This wee boat looks very nice - are you looking to buy her?
If you are, will you be using her for fishing, and / or maybe hauling pots with that derrick?
If you had her fishing, what is the minimum (but realistic) cruising speed you would require?
Can you post some more photos of her, including a view from the stern or aft quarter if possible?
Is she of timber / plywood construction?

 

Starting a small marine services company (diving, surveys, etc) and looking for a small workboat. Would like somewhere in the 12-15kn range. Plywood construction.

To answer your question:
Hull speed is about 6-knots.
It would probably do close to that with just the kicker.
I'm not sure it would get up and plane with 60HP, it would depend a lot on how heavy it is and how fresh those 60HP's are...
Can't you take it for a test drive?

 

For dive and survey work, push knees at the bow are a necessity. You can add them on.

 

That looks much like a Toll,an skiff, which is a tough little boat.

 

Owner is currently on a road trip so hopefully I can take her for a test in mid-April.
