    Hi,

I’m finally tabbing in my bulkheads and I was curious how to cut the fabric to handle the hull angles and the corners around stringers and at the chines. I have 1708 so it doesn’t exactly like to go around corners, even in the vee of the hull it would bunch up with the hull curve.

Are there ways to cut the fabric to handle the corners? Do I use more smaller pieces to get around?

pictures are probably best for me.

    thanks
    Jason

    Darts.

Whenever you come to 3 intersecting planes, you must cut one to the corner.

Ok, thanks. I was trying to overthink it and wasn’t succeeding because it’s really straightforward.

Fibre orientation can make a difference,+/_ 45 degrees will bend a little more easily than 0/90.CSM is a lot more forgiving of strongly curved edges and tends to be more peel resistant. If you do cut the material into smaller sections be sure to stagger the joints between layers
