I'm starting a fresh build using a Chevy truck block and am trying to gauge interest in a 383 that'll make big torque at 3500rpm to get those larger boats up and planing without the weight and fuel consumption of a 454.
I have a friend with a 28' cruiser which wouldn't get out of the water with 6 people on it unless 5 moved up front to get on plain. We replaced the 350mag with a 383 I'd built and what a difference! The boat no longer wallowed, it popped right up and ran 32mph at cruise and 38mph flat out.
I have another block, and I'm wondering if anyone else would be interested in doing the same. I'm getting ready to start the build and if contacted before October will customize to fit your needs.

Do you have any dyno numbers for torque and HP?
