    Agreed, Terry was a calming voice and often a diplomat in heated disputes, usually redirecting the thread back on topic, with a clever point of agreement, between the combatants.

    May he find everlasting peace in his final journey.

    Would it be not a good idea to have a "sleep" button on the forum like facebook? That way, a trusted friend or relative can inform us of a passing away of a member. The holder of the sleep button can only access and answer in the forum but won't have the authority to edit or delete previous post.

    Some of us have gained friends in the forum and communicate frequently but there is no way we can tell them we are dead already when nobody is answering.

    I wasn't paying enough attention and just realized ancientkayaker's passing from the lewisboats memorial posts:
    Terry was another bright star that has been extinguished to all our loss. Condolences to his family and friends.

    This is unbelievable :( :( :( he had sent me a private message saying he was not well and i only replied yesterday :( :(

    What a loss to the boating forums and to the people who knew him in person.

    I wish i could pass my condolences to his family as he has been a fantastic friend and a great contriubutor through out my experience in this forum.

    May he rest in peace .....
