Americas Cup Foils

    Hi All - I was watching the Americas Cup and noticed that the foils are acting not only as fully submerged, but as surface piercing at times as well. What seems remarkable to me is that they can get to pressures low enough to cause cavitation, but the design does not induce ventilation. Has anyone had any close up interaction with these foils or know more about the profile design? any idea what thickness percentage they're running for instance?

    Wow fantastic, thanks for that, I'm surprised they share that information like that. I wonder how close to reality they are, it's a great starting point anyway
