    Hi
I'm trying to design a submarine that is powered by a person but when trying to design the propellers I'm stuck at the wake fraction. How can I calculate this fraction? and is there a value or range of values that I could assume since I really don't have a lot of ways of making tests and examinations.
    Thanks a lot

A hundred and forty years ago confederates with no clue about wake fraction built a human-powered submarine that could maneuver effectively in Charleston bay.

If you search the the terms "human powered submarine", there is a huge quantity of information available. There have been several competitions in recent years, and previous year's designs are posted.
