    Hello everyone,

For the purpose of small research in basic design I am kindly asking you to share your experience, data or guidelines you have about aluminium boat weight estimation.
We are focused mainly on small craft 5 - 20 m for recreational purposes (mostly planing and semi-displacement monohulls).

    Thank you,

    Best,

    Tomislav

Obviously the weight of boat for a given weight will depend on anything that is added on by way of superstructure, cabins etc so your questions cannot be answered without
considering what type of boat that you are interested in.
The easiest method is to look at internet sites that sell boat kits. Ie Metal Boat Kits, there are many others which often give displacement numbers. Some sites do not say that
this is just the hull weight without machinery or all in.
Often Yacht World which is a world wide yacht brokerage sales site will offer displacement of boat that they advertise. In fact a search of aluminum boats for sale will produce specific
boat types with a displacement including machinery.
