There have been some reports on this forum about CEI.
If I remember correctly the quality was good but they packaged their products kind of sloppy.

Look here for a less expensive source:

I do not know what you mean with "prop lock piece".
The prop is held by a large nut, a thin stainless locking ring and a serrated brass ring. With these removed, the prop should come off easy.

I think he means the bearing carrier coz if he means he cant get the prop off he needs to get someone else to do this job

Can't blame you for not knowing what it is called. It has outside thread, so it should be a bolt, but let's call it a threaded ring.

If your '92 boat still has the original stern drive, unscrewing that ring is near impossible if the boat has been used in seawater. But parts are light alloy, more or less fused together. You can make a tool from a piece of steel pipe by cutting the end so it has teeth that fit the ring. You also need a long bar as a lever and a large vise to immobilize the lower housing.
Heat doesn't help, both parts expand at the same rate.
With bad luck, the housing cracks.

That would be the first nut with its thread along the circumference then....

    Hi CDK,
I'm browsing a boat to buy it, and there is a small piece broken off the bottom of the skeg area , lower part, will that affect the performance of the gear or the stability of the boat?
it shows in my profile picture

Zangoory, the somewhat shorter skeg is no problem, but it surprises me that they offer it for sale that way. Most sellers cut it straight and paint it.

An stern drive doesn't get this damage from normal use though, so carefully check for other damage like cracks near the flange area of upper and lower housing or a bent prop shaft.

thanks for advice, the seller mentioned that it happened while the boat is on the trailer going reverse for parking, I did a survey on the boat by an expert and he mentioned that everything else is good, but I'm still worried, so in this case what i have to do? I attached the whole drive pic.
    thanks

When taking out the shift cable can I pull the cable out from bellows side to replace the shift cable bellows? or do I have to have that special socket to take off the cable from out side that way
