I found your experiments and the links you provided quite interesting. I've sent some copies along to some associates, and posted this link, and some of your links onto some other boating forum discussions.

So what do you think about this project of mine?

Electric Motor Propulsion for 40 foot sailing catamaran
    http://www.boatdesign.net/forums/propulsion/exciting-new-eps-thruster-propulsion-9432-5.html#post787077

As you might see I was seeking info that might limit my battery supply size and weight.
Perhaps I just really need to consider those lighter weight, very powerful Tesla batteries?
And isn't Tesla working on an even more ambitious battery project??

I think I need to get involved with some of those discussions over on that Electrek forum or ElectricSeas.org

Great project! I like the idea of a catamaran type hull for electric propulsion. I think a single electric 10-20hp solution is a simple straight forward affordable approach. I am in the process of producing a 6hp electric outboard with plans to produce a 20hp one too. Elco makes electric outboards, but watch their rating. Go by the KW, not the HP "Equivalent". Go with the EP-20. That is actually 9.5hp. I would go with lithium batteries without question. Please keep me posted.

As you might see here on this 'advanced vessel' design I had even bigger plans for those rim-drive propulsion units, BUT development of their bigger brother units has lagged behind :(
