To the point; 26' Dory, 70 Yamaha . Flat bottom (of course), motor well, ran great. Hit floating debris, tore off stern on one side. I built boat, can repair easily. Question is; should I change from a totally flat bottom by angling the last 2' of bottom ( 2 1/2" ) down to create "lift". So, no longer a totally flat bottom. I see the "lift" but think of; drag / lowering o.b. to clear additional hull depth = drag of lower unit. Why even consider this ? Too many of my dad's friends involved ( mullet/ shrimpers/ crabbers/ ect ).
Now it's beginning to make sense to ME !
