I'd like to add spray rails to the sides of my Lumber Yard Sport Skiff 16, are there any considerations in regards to placement of it, angle of bottom edge, etc? So many inches above the bottom, away from the ends? I'm sure I can guess by looking at pictures, but thought I'd seek out some advice first...

It is a flat bottom, ie no deadrise; there is no engineering purpose of spray rails. So what do you intend to accomplish with the rails?

My current boat is pretty much the same design, in a chop enough spray comes in the boat that I'm soaked in no time. Would they not direct the spray further from the boat?

My Lund fishing boat has spray rails. I've always been amazed at how poorly they work. The boat gets into a chop and the bow lifts and smacks a wave and the spray actually comes from the entry angle...it is always a fascinating facewash...

the sprayrails are fully ineffective in a chop
