What's the texture on the side of the hull?

 

Looks like print through. This poster is carefully spamming several sites. Not a very effective marketing strategy . . .

 

Yea, there were 4 or 5 boats posted yesterday by xoboats or bestyachts. I did some digging and there's a xoboats.us and xoboats.ca and xoboats.fi. The Finnish company must be doing aggressive franchise deals. Don't think there's ever been a strong export push before to sell Finnish boats in north america. Wonder if it will work?

I like the Finnish styling, maybe only cause it's foreign.

Print through? Xo says xo boats are aluminum. It can't be a fiberglass panel joined to an aluminum hull at the chine - can it? I don't know what I'm seeing in that photo. Something applied over the aluminum hull?

"XO's hulls are also manufactured out of the best quality marine aluminium (AlMg4,5/ 5083)" website says.

 

They showed one of their hulls bare at a boat show when the company was just founded, too bad that I did not take pictures of the structure. Its structure looked pretty sound.

According to what I was told the hull surface should be just painted aluminium. Perhaps the paint surface is textured for the looks?
