Article in the NZ papers three days ago stating the international jury will be deducting 2 points from Oracle in the AC 72 races when the announcement is made public.

Tow Kiwis and Australian are banned or will be. The Fifth was not dealt to because they accepted him as being honest Wasn't Russell Couts being Honest and clean when he went Public and withdrew the teams from further racing in AC 45s. The are being reported to their respective NATIONAL yachting *** and the world body. NZ,s are hell bent on winning the cup. Who gave the orders and did not advise the higher executive members in ORACLE a Dutchman. Never trust a Dutchman or a Chinaman. The jury found they the executive and the skippers had no knowledge re the issue. The Australians public would love to see the cup in NZ waters and probably would be able to mount a challenge as well.

Anybody here actually believe that knowledge of the kingpost alterations stopped at De Ridder ?
    I'm not convinced, personally.

Gonna make a fine book, when the truth comes out.

    No, Doug, not at all.
They know who definitely WAS involved, but if OR told them that no-one above De Ridder knew, and they have no evidence to the contrary, they would have to believe it, as would any legal system, and not punish anyone above him if his confession was orchestrated to protect others in the team. The IJ could only decide based on information that was presented to them by the team who cheated and lied in the first place.
I find it strange that you feel that we should believe what they say just because they are such honorable upright folks.
Look on the bright side, not a single American was found guilty (they couldn't find one in the team), so your national pride can remain intact.

You must be imagining things, Doug, because I saw no mention of the IJ in that
    post.

I think it's more plausible that the guys on board these boats were obsessive about every last detail of tuning, working on their coordination and moves, trimming and boathandling. Everything needing adjustment was minutely studied and practiced over and over, and if they devised anything that gave them a real edge over the competition it would be quite extraordinary for it to be kept secret from most of the people on board, or most of the shore team.

And there was a great deal of pressure to perform; No second best!

    Stoopid to the NZth degree.
    Firstly this dumb mistake:
"Team New Zealand will therefore need to win 11 races before Team New
    Zealand wins nine."
Secondly, they omitted to mention the nationalities of the individual cheats.
    I wonder why ;)
