I repaired my $20 hobie 18 by cutting a hole in the deck
and after the glass work inside was done
the hole was covered by a deck plate 6'' plastic screw in
any marine store should have deck plates in 4-6-8'' sizes under $20

btw long gloves help with glass dust itch from needed sanding prep
I always wet the glass before placing it inside, on a bit of card board or ply
and use lite MEK doses but help it cure with a old style lite bulb for heat
a hairdryer will also work or a paint scraper heat gun

after the inside glass sets you can fair the outside with your choice of puttys
bondo is cheap but weak micro balloons or choped glass is better
