    Hello,

    When you calculate the thickness of plating or the SM of a stiffener, you have need to factor "F" (reduction pression factor).

    For that, you must calculate the factor Cf (for exemple in metric units for plating) :
    Cf = (s - 254)/(54.2 L + 559)
    and enter in the table 7-4 whitch give the factor "F".

    Do you know a mathematic formula for calculate "F" with the Cf without used the table 7-4 .

    Thank-you by advance

    Best regards

    Jacques

    Jacques,

    This formula:

    F = 0.539*Cf^2-1.2915*Cf+1.0032

    will give you these values:

    Cf________F
    1.0______0.251
    0.9______0.277
    0.8______0.315
    0.7______0.363
    0.6______0.422
    0.5______0.492
    0.4______0.573
    0.3______0.664
    0.2______0.766
    0.1______0.879
    0.05_____0.940
    0.0______1.003
