A nice toy I came across...

    Technically interesting and ingenious, but heavy as hell. It is a basic boat plus:
    - a genset
    - a hydraulic pump with an oil carter
    - 3 hydraulic motors mounted on the wheel hubs
    - 3 articulated legs
    - 3 hydraulic cylinders for leg retraction
    - hydraulic lines all around
    - a control rack
    - some other minor stuff.
    And all of it in a 6-7 meters boat, which makes one heavy boat. And being heavy, it is necessarily an inefficient powerboat.
    Since it has hydraulic motors for land propulsion, it is also an inefficient (besides being unstable) road vehicle.
    All in all, that thing is a real fuel guzzler - both on the road and in the water. And frankly I don't see the usefulness of those wheels - though they do make it a curious and niche product.
    That's just my opinion, of course.

    My opinion is almost identical to yours, Daiquiri.

    The thing is devilishly clever but hopelessly complex, overweight, expensive, and.......did I mention, Ugly? Belongs to some Russian oligarchs no doubt.

    Its only a sealegs with a camo paint job. Haven't you seen them before. It is only designed to drive out of the water not down the road.
