I need some recommendations on the best way to add two verticle hard top supports to my lobster style boat. These can also double as hand grab rails similar to typical New England DownEast style boats. What materials and how should I go about this? I think I would like to have (3) cutouts for grabbing onto.

I think aluminum, the usual material is best. It is very versatile and you can also use it for wiring chase.
