    there are plenty of studying showing gmo is bad for animales , just gotta search for them.

    By the time clippers had come to be, technology was in full swing and survival rates were much higher. Previous to the mid to late 19 th century, a 50% survival rate wasn't unreasonable in commercial shipping. In fact, all the major movers of goods (East india, etc.) usually split their cargos into 4 or 5 lots, all on different ships, hoping they get at least half of it delivered. In Colonial era America, fishermen could eventually expect to die aboard their sinking vessels. There were very few old fishermen.

    More than a few crew members were landlubbers that woke up with a hangover and a lump on their head out of sight of land. The shipping companys had very successful recruiting divisions. :D
