Diamand stays and planning of the main

    I have diamand stays with three spreaders. 1 pointing forward and two pointing backwards appr 10 degrees. Hard tighed.
    My question:
    -If you have an afterstay and likes to plan the main is it possible to do that with diamond stays holding back. Then you can instead have a mastheadrig instead of the fractional rig as I have today Is that true?
    I have an old trimaran weighing appr 1100 kg and total length 8,5 m.
    Could you help me decide.

    Are you trying to eliminate the back stay?

    That would require an engineering analysis of the rig and hull structure.
