    I wonder if the kink in TNZ's foils might be giving them a little advantage when going upwind - I suspect the wider part of the foil (which must generate more lift than the other half leading to the tip) can be tilted more steeply, generating more lift to windward and allowing them to sail at a better angle.

    I'm not sure ,Phil. You can rest assured that if I find any more from Martin I'll post them here. I believe further back in this thread there is a paper on the AC boats done by Martin.
