    35th America's Cup on Foils

Matthew Sheahan on the new "normal": http://www.yachtingworld.com/blogs/...r-as-sailing-takes-a-huge-step-forwards-66238

As Portsmouth prepares to host the opening event for the new America’s Cup cycle with the AC World Series event the prospect of a fleet of six boats hammering into the first mark at 30+ knots, all flying on their foils, has raised eyebrows among the more conservative Cup followers. But the new generation of crew that are sailing these machines are lapping up this high octane action. Here’s why.

Yup, the AC45s' are coming.... to Portsmouth. A lot of stuff on the TV about the event, mainly BBC, especially South Today. Might even go and take a gander. Looks like Sat is good weather, whilst Sunday is going to get wet later. As for the practice racing on Friday, I think the 40 Kn gusts forecast may find the ACs' struggling to stay penned in the harbour! ;)

I was going to take the boat down portsmouth way but the weather certainly looks a bit Iffy. Might be best to watch on BT sport instead [and keep an eye on the TdF at the same time....c'mon G!]
