I e-mailed him a few weeks ago to ask if it was ok to post his images giving him full credit-he said it was OK. Keep in mind he is the official photog for TNZ and it is in their interest to get these extraordinary pictures out.

I see the genoa is from North. Does Terry Hutchinson no longer use Quantum exclusively?
I think Artemis is the best looking overall, though Prada has the best color scheme.

This is apparently in NZ but its not Team NZ or Luna Rosa. Looks like a 45?

I think that is an SL33 Doug and that is one of TNZ's tenders following very close behind.

High performance, non-flex platform foiling in an SL 33; shot a year ago, apparently. No wonder ETNZ is so far ahead in foil design. Did I say little to no flex?

No you didn't-but did you say "foiling"? That boat would never win against a boat that actually foiled all the time like TNZ does. Seemed like a lot of pitch excursions?

If you check out the video on SA, large screen, (your post is too small, Doug) you'll see the SL 33 is foil flying most of the time, not just foil assist - which it is doing when not fully flying ... and towards the end of the sequence, really accelerates, full flight, no wands. TNZ quietly going about their business a year ago, no flex, impressive, no?
Oh, the pitching, looked pretty normal to me in the savage waves and wind of the tide ripped Waitemata and lake Hauraki.
Enough of this net time wasting; got Sid's mast to get ready for lifting.

I did just that and while it looked like a whole lotta fun I think they had a ways to go at that point to achieve the trully brilliant TNZ foiling machine they have now. Definitely control issues that appear to be solved now.

Notice the detail of this picture. What does it mean?

Means ETNZ foils upwind - although she is sailing a little freer by a couple of degrees than Prada. Would point higher, have less aerial drag if they dumped the archaic headsail (even though this is a pretty small one).

I thought the ad space left on the Prada mainsail was the culprit ;) Someone should point out that Prada may have just headed up and dropped down, we need a video to compare.
