Code Zero halyard screwed up on Oracle .TNZ way ahead. Wind so light that the time limit may be a factor....

Ouch. 23 knot turtles. Going to be incomplete. Talk about frustrating for ETNZ.

Why such a short time limit? Seems dumb as they would have easily finished.

Ok, I am now starting to agree with those who believe this AC is a complete joke.
What kind of idiot race organiser sets a max. time limit which is unachievable even when the boats are doing 17knots boatspeed and flying a hull all the way around the course ?
What they are telling us is that they can't race in less than 12knots of wind, and more than 20knots.
This is not as a result of the boats chosen - this is the RO trying really hard to screw up the event.

Total joke, it has to be 3kn or less on the first beat in our (UK) Solo National Championships before abandonment. These AC rules are made for such a narrow wind range it is not a true test of the AC72 boats. Why not have a proper time limit? With the greatest respect, it makes the Americans look like a joke, making rules to suit their own boat not a wide range of conditions. Every other class has to cope - in the last two years I have sailed in 1kn to 36kn+ but the AC 72s are not allowed to.

    Moral victory to ETNZ....

I know nothing about match racing but a time limit is the most stupid thing I have ever heard of... . What's the point? Security because the man at the wheel could fell asleep?
As for the wind limits in other classes, it may be as it is, but AC claims the top of sailing, no limits in budget nor in technology - and this is the result: only safe in duck pond conditions... .
