    34th AC

Congratulations to TNZ! And good-bye Americas Cup... TNZ is faster, better crew work-Team USA is in big trouble. First race was one of the best AC races I've ever seen-and I've watched them all.
Second race was same old same old.......

Seems to me that Oracle slows down more on the tacks - to about 11 knots whereas ETNZ never goes less than 13-14. So don't get in a tacking duel with ETNZ

    cheers

Its got to be those new "box like" ducts they put on the rear wing. :p
Team Oracle had better be burning the midnite oil and come up with a little more speed. They aren't going to win on $$$ and Arrogance.

Where can we get a good Vid of the races. We don't have access to American TV here in Aus.

    ...

Nathan Outerridge's commentary is excellent. The boats are both excellent.

Things happen awfully fast in the start, as was written somewhere 'if you blink you miss it'. I suppose Dean Barker has the advantage of rarely blinking, as his optometrist confirmed today.

It's an interesting challenge for Spithill. He has to manage a slam dunk start pretty soon.

Dean Barker is one hell of an inveterate monohull sailor, careening around in masterful control this heretical catamaran.

I'll have to eat my hat. I didn't think he could manage it a couple of years ago.

Wow ! First race was awesome ! Second was a procession, NZ clearly has the speed.
    What now?
I get the impression Spithill is going have to be more aggressive in the start area to gain a penalty.
Watching TNZ hunt them down after a 360 would be good sport !

If you have Austar/Foxtel in Australia, you can watch the races LIVE on Fox Sports at 6am EST, great coverage. Its the first time I've been up this early on a Sunday morning in a long time  But well worth it :D

I'd love to see TNZ chasing Oracle after a 360, (and likely catching them :p) but I dont think they do 360's in this event, they didn't in the Louis Vuitton Cup, but maybe they do in the AC? or is it the same as LVC where they just slow down for a couple of boat lengths? Calling all experts?

It was terrific and for a moment I thought we were in for a really exciting series
    of racing.

I doubt that the series will beat Spongebob Squarepants in the TV ratings.

Maybe they could claw back a bit of sponsorship money by getting Judge Judy to hear the legal appeals.

I thought it was pretty ordinary. However, when the USA are 40 seconds behind
there's not much you can say except "It looks like USA are out of options".
