    Just wanted to say:

Been loving all these posts, they make for great reading. Thank you.

And now it's game time. Very best of luck to both teams, I'm very very excited!!! Don't know who will win, but I guess by now it's pretty much determined already, and were just waiting for all the cards to be shown.

Awesome!! Wouldn't have it any other way...

Something interesting from the official AC site:

Hope Jimmy isn't allowed to read that this morning, he'd be spooked?

So now the Auckland optometrists are helping out with Kiwi mind games...

    lol

What coffee does that helmet dispense; Nespresso, or Lavazza?

    :p

    ....

GoPro put up a video yesterday with lots of good onboard footage of Team Oracle, already it has over 21,200 views:

Ken Read (TV commentator and North Sails pres) makes a plug for his show!

Gotta Love Team Luna Rosa Helmets. Looks like the second coming of Flash Gordon. Well Flashy Anyway. Could it be some kind of reflective advantage, blinding the other teams crews?

No, because they were so far behind that the light would have taken several
    minutes to reach their opponents.

    LOL

    ...

Only two more hours to go.

    ARE WE READY? :p

    ...

Here is another shocking story, right on the eve of the match!

Damn right it's pathetic; imagine how many insignificant Oracle sycophants must have received invites to this party - and the challenging club is pretty much excluded. Incredible.

    Call your Ambassador home!

All right! One hour left before the start...

Don't any of you boatbuilding nerds now start posting about the wonderful old Buccaneer, inflatable russian catamarans, etc.

Or I will call some friends in Haiti and have them make pincushions in the shape of Pivers!

Nuggets, Nimbles or Lodestars? How about foiling Encores for the budget cup?

Is this cruel, or is this cruel? It is Mother Nature being wicked again; She very often has a grudge in proportion to the number of hours you've spent organizing a race, was often my experience.

You suppose they will need anchors?

Super first race, well earned for the Kiwis!

It looks seriously hairy when the boats are as close as they were,
at the separation mark and after the 1st leeward mark.

"One hell of a yacht race" said Barker just now.

Most intense race I've seen in a dog's age.

    :)

My heart was pumping - Dean wins the start, Jimmy goes hard, ETNZ fights back into the lead, ETNZ crosses about 15 metres ahead at 40 knots, Deano has balls. The boats are so close after all this time. I get to watch it at home - LIVE. Good times.

    cheers

    Phil

    Well, How about it?
Besides the small muff-up at the first mark, Team Gandalf the Grey displayed an outstanding piece of sailing skill. Faster tacks, less tacks, and faster overall boat speed. If the wind does come up, Team Sauron will be just another footnote in the never ending saga of America's Cup Racing!
    Go Go TNZ Gandalf!!
