pardon me for asking is there a exsisting vessle doing this job already? it looks to me your trying to get a riverboat to do a oceangoing boats job for a draft of 5' or less..which doosent hardly seem compatable with your expected ocean conditions.

    Thank you for the comment.
We have coral reef there and do not want to disturb them. I am studying the various aspects for building a vessel to keep the operating cost and draft minimum. Aim is to get an FRPOR steel Hull so that the draft can be minimised.A flat bottom in the midship region may help for this low draft. So the depth of the vessel and the breadth are kept as a choice for the designer/builder.
Another option is to get a vessel Length =20m, Breadth = around 6.5m and a suitable depth. Fish Hold capacity=30 - 35 tonnes to store fish at - 40 degrees, Blast Freezer -60 degrees at 300Kg per hour , Speed = 10 knots and crew =12 , Draft 1.7 to 2.0 m

thank you , i was trying to determine the reason for such a shallow draft really, and whether a realistic view was being taken and thats great your not taking apart reef. given the nature of your problem perhaps u should consider multipal craft 1st one take your 30x10m hull and set it up with 60 tons cargo and multipal blast freezers as a boat tender then construct 2 lighter fast boats w out the blast freesers and just deep cold cargo 15-20 tons per to make your in and out runs...which also gives your boats a shore side supply connection both personel and materials.

    Exactly, that's the idea.
There are a lot of 9-10m boats doing pole and line fishing catching tuna around the islands. We are thinking about collecting the catch from small boats and also catch some fish with this vessel (Sashumi grade - requires fresh-sudden killing and freezing).
The cost of a 30 m vessel wil be double or more than that of 20m one(approximately).

i meant for the 2 light boats to be the tender to shore runners they dont fish the bigger boat tender for your pole and line boats stays out most of the time in the most favorable collection area and you should save in fuel instead of the big boat drinking a lot of fuel going in and out...you gain a ton of operational flexabilty and the ablity to ferry out to the pole boats crew..parts.. fuel.. n the 2 runners work opposit each other pretty mutch as deep cold trucks if that makes any sense.

Such a plan is also there. To keep 2 to 4 boats of 15 m in length having cold storage. This is adopted from the Maldivian success.

i dont know about maldivian ,but thats how most of the salmon long line boats operate trawlers->processor mothership> cold pack to shore,,,the processor ships come in only when they have to....some of them operate with the mothership coming back in to deliver i think but they come to deepwater docks...you have a natural habitat your trying to not disturb ,but you need dedicated crews for the mothership that are up to staying at sea,...one other note your country last i knew had kind of poor soil to grow things in..you should consider freezing the fish waste into blocks and marketing it to farmers as fertilizer..or start a shoreside composting operation useing it,,yea its smelly processing but it results in some very nice natural fertilizer.

Yes, it is a very nice idea to convert to natural fertilisers.

your welcome of all the boats iv commenly run acros that hull is the closest one to fit the job description ..and it's max displacement ie hit captians over the head before hand that that is non negotiable, is a bit less than your asked for displacemnt max to keep boats from accidently hanging them selves up.
murphy lives on a boat dident ya know
