    ldrumond Ya...I look like him

New to me aluminum boat has this unit on the panel.
Anyone familiar with this piece of equipment?

Alluminium is next to zinc as a sacrificial metal when conected with stainless steel and all kinds of other metals in sea water.

This gadget is to check daily the balance of different metals voltges on your boats hull.

Find the book for it and read it carefully--nice gadget to have.

Ya, it would be great to have the book.
Know where I could get my hands on one?
Company is long gone. No search success.
As I said, new to me boat, figured it had something to do with how badly my hull is bio-degrading.
Has anyone out there had any actual experience with a unit like this?

Normally it should read zero. If you have a potential on the hull then you have stray currents, and galvanic corrosion is going on. If it starts to read voltages you need to check out your electrical system.

Contact Safeshore. They make glavanic isolators. I would assume that this device is meant to measure galvanic current which exists at low voltages.
