26’ Project Boat

I am thinking about real project. I have bought a 26’ fiberglass hull a contender type. The hull was never finished and has been sitting around for years. The project is to finish it, starting from the hull. I have to build an inner hull, and all the systems. The transom is setup for an outboard engine bracket. Being that I am only doing this once, should I build a mold or just build it in place. I want to use as little wood as possible, I was figuring to use a core like Divinycell or other and cover it with epoxy and glass. I have some experience with epoxy but none with a core material. I am looking for as much information as possible and guidance.

You dont need molds. We are re-building a 22' Aquasport (77' flatback) here in Vero Beach so we can show exactly how this is done.

We are starting with a bare shell and using Divinycell, Nidacore, and epoxy - all the best I will use marine ply wood for the gunnels though.

You probably not far from us. If you get the materials from our online store, our professional designer will spend some time calculating all the scantlings for you for no charge.
