Looking at maybe doing a Dura type proa with longer hull and sails on the 7.5m hull. Any info on this type of vessel?

I tried googling 'Dura proa' but nothing came up - could you tell us a bit more about the 'standard' (I presume) Dura proa with a 7.5 m hull please?

You are talking of drua. Your best bet would be Gary Dierking, he gathered a lot of info on traditional pacific craft and built many. Google his blog, there is plenty info on it

Druas are shunting catamarans, both hulls the same length, but different shapes. Leleuvia Island Resort to Bay of Islands.... The smaller boats are usually camakous, a long hull with the rig and steering on it, a short hull for hiking on.
Drua I think this is what you are referring to. An interesting article at https://www.fijijournal.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Sailing-the-Camakau.pdf. Unfortunately, all of these boats have rotted away since then

    Any questions, let me know.
