Class begins on Thursday, September 26th at 14:00 UTC. Note that edX
courses use Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) for due dates and release
times.

Before we get started, we would like to provide you with some useful
information with respect to the edX platform. If this is your first time taking
an edX course you may want to enroll in the edX demo course to get a feel
for how it will work. Also, please check your browser and settings -
JavaScript must be enabled. We recommend downloading and using the
current version of either Firefox or Chrome. Finally, answers to a variety of
common questions associated with edX usage are available at the edX
student FAQ.

If you can complete these steps now, before we launch next week, that will
help to reduce problems getting started.

Once the course starts, just login at www.edx.org and click on
16.101x to get started. We look forward to working with all of you
throughout the semester!

 

Are we having fun yet? I have some glitchy page shots. When I try to go back to a previous page, I get garbage. It seems to need time to interpret the coding before It gets a scroll command. Exiting to the section menu and returning seems to be the easiest fix.

I'm having fun relearning what all the buttons on my old calculator are for.

 

The follow-on course starts 27 January. Professor Drela is publishing a textbook by the same title that is available for preorder on Amazon. The first course was fantastic.
