I'm looking for some design ideas/Kits for a concept boat I'll be building. I live in Southern California and this boat will only be used to run the coast/Catalina Island. It will be kept on a trailer, powered by a small outboard (in a well)and have a small cutty cabin with a bunk(s) in the V.
I'd like it to be like a launch with Tiller and as classis design as possible. I don't expect it to plane, however 6-7 kns would be great. Here: (AROHA - Plans & Kit Ordering Page - OffCenterHarbor.com https://www.offcenterharbor.com/plans-och-aroha/) is the Aroha which nails exactly the Classic look from the straight entry bow to the rounded/curved lines. Obviously the double end is a no go for me, however, I could see a squared/rounded transom working at just where the cockpit ends. The Hull on the Aroha transitions from rounded at the bow to flat as at the stern. I believe THIS would great aid in ride comfort in my area as I'll be heading into the swell during islands trips.

Looking for suggestions and maybe with this broad reach maybe someone already knows of a design/kit.

Ask at your local boatyard(s). They repo more than a few boats for non-payment of fees (and/or boat payments). They're like used car lots.
