Intro.... and on and on and on.......

So how are you feeling about this build now Mr Mur??? :p

Hi there all and thanks for the responses and advice so far!
I am Llewellyn (aka Lu), the other half of this build team

As Gareth has mentioned, this is all new to us so we will be asking a lot of questions
So here go my first few……
Manie and Apex1…. I hear you guys on just letting this bucket go and starting from new
But half the challenge to Gareth and I is the fact that we want to “revive” this particular boat
When we saw this thing just abandoned at the dam, we just felt we had to get it
Manie you say that the flared hull is problematic….
    In what way is it?
I am not being hard a$$ed here, I really want to know
I have attached a better pic from the front of the boat for a better look
As Gareth has also mentioned, I am a designer by trade and have vast experience in various fields, architecture & mechanical engineering, and am currently designing units for a large off road trailer company.
I have also used various 3D software packages and have toyed with some designs for boats when I was younger.
So for me it is not just the challenge of building a boat, but re-designing it to be better then it was
We want to do this entire boat up in 3D before we start buying any materials at all, so we can do some changes as we see fit on the boat
Looking at the advise given here and looking through some of the other threads on this forum, I have come across a few things that I want to change on the boat to improve the build quality and usability of it
We did look into many sights that offer plans for DIY boats, but feel we are up to a bigger challenge :D

Well, hobbies are not about saving money. Keep asking questions and we'll try to help.
